Turkish Sumak handwoven rug. This vintage piece is 100% wool – 60-70 years old. Natural vegetable and plant dyes give this piece its eye catching distinct colouring. With a vibrant centralised traditional panel and an array of multi-coloured motifs. A wonderfully rich triple border with the highlight being a cream pastel diamond design all finished off with a beautiful cream fringe. In very good condition. A Turkish delight with a delightful price!
The process used to make these traditonal rugs is a similar technique to how tapestry is woven and leave no pilling like normal area rugs.
