This Anatolian Turkish Kilim rug is semi-antique at 80 to 90 years old. This piece is hand made with natural vegetable and plant dyes in the Turkish carpet capital of Anatolia. The central panel of this piece is a triple diamond pattern on a red base surrounded by tribal motifs that feel the piece out to a small brown patterned border and the piece is finished of with a small clean fringe. This rug is in great condition and has aged well especially the colours that come from using natural plant and vegetables as dyes. This process of colouring Kilims has been used for centuries and is what gives kilims their unique look that you cannot find on later pieces. This really is a rug that comes with a story and true Turkish heritage. This piece is hardwearing and can be used in busy rooms or as a collectable could also be used as a decorative piece.
